Niger/Kogi/Kwara Custom Command Generate 1.709 Billion From January To July 2019

The Niger, Kogi and Kwara Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has generated N1.709 billion between January to July 2019.

Customs Area Controller, Yusuf Abba Kassim, stated this in a statement issued to news men. Said the Command has terget of N3, 051,699,704.51 out of which they had so far generated N1,709,663,828.08 which represent 56% of the annual target.

He said “The Command is not relenting on its efforts to surpass its recorded successes last year, since my assumption on duty here as Customs Area Controller”

Giving the Breckdown, Abba Kassim, said The Command generated N277,994,063.91) in the month of June 2019 N245,308,308.71 of the Monthly target. This is quite a remarkable performance because the Command surpassed the revenue generated in June 2018 with N 106,683,365.68″

He said the Command has made difference seizures of Rice totaling One Hundred and Eighty Nine (189) Bags with Duty Paid Value (DPV) of Three Million Two Hundred and Thirteen Thousand Naira N 3,213,000.

A Six (6) tyres truck with REG. NO MNA 691 XV Suspected to be carrying Three Hundred (300) Bags of Rice was intercepted with Duty Paid Value (DPV) of Five Million One Hundred Thousand Naira (5,100,000)
Also, according to him a Mitsubishi Canter with REG NO XC 112 BDU suspecting to be conveying One Hundred (100) Bags of Rice with Duty Paid Value (DPV) of One Million Seven Hundred Naira (1,700,000) was also arrested within this month
The comptroller warned smugglers to steer clear and engage in meaningful venture.
