How Indigenous Constructions Company H & M Is Changing The Narrative In Northern Nigeria

 

The Nigerian construction industry has for decades been dominated by foreign companies. 

Our Editor  SHEHU YAHAYA, examines how  an indigenous construction company  H & M is changing the narratives by blazing a trail of quality delivery in Northern Nigeria.  

Indigenous contractors battle foreign coys’ dominance For decades, foreign companies have dominated the construction industry in the country. 

Though the likes of Dantata and Sawoe are known names in road construction, but foreign companies like Strabag, Julius Berger, Arab Contractors, Eskiogulari and CCECC are in the majority.

These foreign companies have been entrusted with big projects that require technical know-how, big financial outlay, quality and timely delivery whose dominance have been propelled by their capacity, vast capital and extensive machinery. 

However in recent times, indigenous construction companies  like H & M Nigeria Limited have risen up to the table ready to be counted.  

In 2019 the federal executive council ( FEC) was awarded the reconstruction  of Ajingi to Jahun , Kafin Hausa to Gamayin up to Hadejia roads which was over 200 kilometers to Kano Based ConstructionCompany H & M Nigeria Limited.

When completed, the roads would boost socio-economic activities in and around those areas.

H & M construction company  is an indigenous company based in Kano state North-west Nigeria is blazing a trail of quality and timely delivery of projects giving notice of the readiness of indigenous companies to start proving their mettle.

It could be recalled that during the Former Jigawa state Governor  Sule Lamido and Former Kano State governor Malam Ibrahim Shekarau  respectively  Have awarded  several roads project to H&M which the company had done tremendously  well in constructing a quality projects across the States.

Most of the projects were awarded to indigenous contractors then based on their efforts on quality projects. 

Attesting to the company’s competence, The Executive Chairman  Of Kafin Hausa local government in Jigawa state, Hon. Muhammad S . Yahaya Sarawa, expressed statisfacion with the level and quality work done by the company handling the project, saying the company has done excellently well.

The chairman urged the people Kafin Hausa local government to continued support the effort of  federal government and the Jigawa state government towards achieving their goals in physical transformations.

 Also speaking a member of All Progressives Congress in Jigawa state Hon. Musa Mohammed Jahun lauds H & M  for the quality of its work in Jigawa state. 

He also commended president Muhammadu Buhari Administration for awarding the  project to an indigenous company which for the past 10 year’s they’re looking for.

Malam Ubale Ajingi, a resident of Gaya local Government area of Kano state Said “For over the years we are looking for the road construction, it has now become a reality in the president Buhari’s government.”
